so you wanna be a dj?
wow let me tell you i arrived at 3pm. the queue was ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ LONG!
i queued with my friend and her mum, ziping. she went for 93.3 instead. she has good vocals for chinese station.
we waiting from 3.30 to 7.30pm.. (freaking long queue) and it was my turn. woohoo. you know i was nervous and excited.
whilst waiting, i was composing my 30 secs introduction. i heard from rozz on 98.7 rude awakening that they were looking for personality, humour and something interesting about the individual.. and it cannot be like: im crazy! i love shopping! cos that isnt smth uniquely you, everyone does that. you see... so i came up with this brief introduction.
With my toad voice of course:
"Hellooo, im serene and the reason why i wanna be a dj is because i enjoy talking, i talk non stop. so i believe that being a radio dj is the best job and coolest job for me. And one thing interesting about me is that i like to recite commercial lines and one that goes like this: if you find a cheaper price at a comparable fare and time, call us and we'll beat it by 10%! yep.. so if i were to become a radio dj, i would like to pass on my cheerfulness and brighten up people's day!"
(i shd have said: my friends say that im anything but serene, this would give them an idea about the crazy me)
so rozz said: " thats nice :)"
and shan said: "oh so do you have any all time favourite commercial you like to read?"
i replied: "yes i do, the jetstar 10% commercial is my favourite".
and after this segment, i was to read a paragraph, i suppose entertainment news on justin bieber endorsing drivesafe phone application. and i was done with the auditions.
everything went rather smooth, no hiccups. just that it would have been perfect if my voice was normal.
i dont know when results would be out.. just hope and wait. nope pinning too much hope, because of my sore throat. but i hope they see that im at disadvantage and let me go through. cos i performed quite well.
keeping fingers crossed! :)
radio auditions were fun!
i think all auditions are.
it made me think if i wanted to go into radio. its such a enjoyable job, interacting with people and doing my fav- talking.
maybe i should take up a major in business and minor in mass comm! haha!

CELEBRITY INSURED BODY PARTS -LOL
okay.. these are the top 3:
3. $70 Million Legs
2. $300 Million Buttocks
1. $1 Billion Legs
and here are some interesting ones i found:
$317,000 Mustache
$2.3 Million Taste Buds ($330K in 1960s)
$7 Million Chest Hair
$10.6 Million Teeth ($6.2M in 1989)
okay these are the ang moh ones. the chinese ones were in my previous post.
so you see.. as long as you have the money, you can go ahead and insure every part of your body.. just in case any mishap happens. like missing one tooth, losing a patch of chest hair. you get back much more money to maybe... replace that part?
well that's not the point. not many ordinary humans would go and do that. we'll just go buy insurance for accidents/ holidays/ work. oh and vehicles.
so yeah, im encouraging people to get ORDINARY insurance :)

Car Maintenance: Car Insurance, ERP, COE, and more..
Everything now is money money money.
can you imagine if you get a car now.. how much MONEY you'll have to cough up.
Its not only the car itself, there is COE, ERP and.... CAR INSURANCE!
what if your car side mirror gets stolen, the window pane gets smashed, and what if your car gets flooded in orchard road?!
LOL.. so many things to take precaution of. so thats why you HAVE to get car insurance to protect your darling car!
and talking about car insurance.. i just realised that i received my first cpf contribution hahaha.
and it came from prudential insurance. i dont really know what im supposed to do cos i havent read through the 7 pages long letter.
but i do recall that i have to reply them about making them my cpf safe guarder or something, or else i'll have to pick another one which is NTUC income.
i left it to my mom cos she knows better.
so now back to car insurance.. and other types of insurance.
oh i saw this interesting news on taiwan tv news that celebrity with stunning features are insuring those certain parts. for example.. andy lau insured his "dazzling eyes", jolin cai yilin insured both her "legs" because she was performing some highly dangerous acts for her concert. jin cheng wu insured his "dazzling eyes" and jay chou his "awesome voice" i think. i cant recall the exact features.. BUT the thing i was sure... that all these parts were insured millions of singapore dollars.
MILLION DOLLAR INSURANCE CONTRACT! (for just one pair of eyes, or feet, or lips mind you)...-.-
so yea.. getting am insurance for the car is nothing as compared to this. afterall, you're insuring the WHOLE VEHICLE! not just the mirror, the glass, the engine and bla.
thats all for today. something to leave you thinking - car insurance :) and that's if you get a car, of course.
GENERAL ELECTION 2011
GE results were rather much expected.. (PAP returns to parliament, PAP percentage decreases)
almost 90% of pap members seated in the parliament when their votes were only an average of 60%.
this shows that something is amiss with the voting system. some say the "GRC ticket" to parliament is the factor. and this is how people like george yeo and the women minister (i forgot the name)who are really capable don't get voted in! And newbies (who dont who deserve it) like TPL gets a seat.
rather nonsensical system ah? it has nothing to do with Workers party winning aljunied and george yeo's team getting kicked out.
its alright MR george yeo, there are so many singaporeans backing you up to run for presidency!
now it all boils down to his decision
Workers party can go win all they want and represent the people in the parliament- that i strongly agree. but the fact is that those who DONT deserve it, gets in and those who STRONGLY deserves it fails to get a seat.
Tell me, what is wrong and who is at fault?
GE 2011 trivia on this NSP member.
Mr X (siling primary school, woodlands sec, ITE yishun, part time retail diploma, Works as a warehouse assistant) so this means anyone CAN run the nations?! me too!?
RUNNING FOR ELECTION?!
I cannot imagine someone whose english standard like his to lead singapore. I cannot imagine my country leader becoming a laughing stock when he represents singapore in a foreign land- it'll just become singapore's joke.
truelysingaporean.blogspot.com (evidence for cmi english)
i asked him his stand on facebook for running and this was what he replied:
"i did not want to stand for this election but as no one is coming forward, i have to make that choice. I have discuss this with party elders, and i have made that choice. Well, it may be a good/bad decision depending on how you may want to look at it. Whatever it is, i am not perfect and i am still learning. Btw, no worries abt it. This is my last hurrah. My final one. Me and a few other comrades has decided we shall not stand anymore."
(again, note the language)
HELLO?! no one is coming forward to oppose PAP that's why you decided to run?!
And what if you get elected? its the end. 0.0 fortunately luck wasn't on your side!
phew..
anyway, nothing against this candidate. but i just felt that he should know his limits. afterall lifes of singaporeans are at stake.

Dinner at Paradise Dynasty @ ION orchard + shopping at Takashimaya
This 8 flavoured xiao long bao can be found at paradise dynasty @ ION orchard level 4.
Worth the try, something special, tastes like what its supposed to taste like.
i liked the cheese xiaolongbao especially. you could see the cheese melted in the meat and oozing out after your first bite. yum!
Other than 2 'longs' of 8 flavoured xlb, we also had shanghainese bamboo shoot, 5 spices beef and cai rou wanton la mian.
i must say that this 3 didnt meet my expectations.
(probably ordered the wrong dish)
i was there at 7pm. long queue before me!
got a queue number and waited about 30 mins before getting in.
I spent time at 360 market place, i LOVED that super market!!! classic supermaket, for expats must be.. the best part, prices are SO reasonable, some products priced even cheaper than fairprice! Sushi corner looked fantastic, much "liao" at such a cheap price. bought lobster handroll at only $1.40, much meat in it!
and after dinner, mom and i went to taka to use a $10 taka gift voucher.
went one round and decided on bakerzin's macaroons! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! <3<3<3
YUM! THOUGH I NEVER KNEW WHAT IT REALLY WAS HAHA!
THATS ALL FOR TODAY'S UPDATE!

UNIVERSITY ntu smu nus
yeap. uni it is.
1 year later and im gonna submit my university applications.
and im not sure what i wanna go into.
Business- always my safe choice but people are telling me that its rather general, not much expertise. i thought through it and i kinda agree. its like you can read them off those books, get into the working world then learn from there. Afterall its all about experience isnt it? so thats my dilemma.
Caught between 2 different type of genre. Worse still business and mass comm have further subgroups. acturial science, marketing, HR, account, journalism, broadcast and the list goes on.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
okay but another thought: whichever uni offers a scholarship to me, im in hahahaha.
YOU KNOW HOW FREAKING EXPENSIVE UNIVERISTY FEES ARE?! and the best thing about scholarships? everything paid for. EVERYTHING. hola! :)
but for now im keeping it simple.. NTU business or SMU business, well of course im keeping options opened!
they say smu is the arising thing. whereas ntu is not even improving (dropped drastically in rank) also, lecturers are part time students.. for real?!
i'll go to their open house to clarify my doubts- SOON hopefully! 1 year early though haha!
See you tomorrow!
